When one partner is ready to get married or have a child..

and the other partner is not, this may create a conflict for the relationship, sometimes even a crisis.

I focus in working with couples who want to understand their differences in readiness for the long-term commitments to marriage and often children, and who wish to resolve them. I help couples get to the root of what's holding them back from committing to a full and intimate partnership and perhaps the life-long responsibility of raising a child. Whether considering conception or adopting a child, establishing positive relationship foundations are paramount to sustaining a healthy marital partnership and nurturing children.

Couples who work with me, often experience a deeper understanding of their partner, a healthier way of communicating needs and feelings, deeper connection and healthy autonomy, and a way to work through conflicts that leads to the repair of the relationship.

Most of all, couples leave therapy with a clear agreement about what each partner wants for their relationship. Sometimes this can lead to couples parting ways because that is what is decided is best for themselves and their relationship in order to create the life that each partner ultimately wants.

However, if couples are dedicated to doing the work, they often find that they develop a stronger bond, deeper sense of security and commitment that makes choosing and creating a family together an enriching life path.

Couples therapy with me is about feeling heard, seen and supported. I believe in couples therapy because I've seen first-hand the transformation that occurs in relationships when we remove blocks, uncover patterns, develop healthier choices and create a shared vision for the relationship and future.
